If you think that your deck is too powerful to be stored in a simple deck box, then you’d be happy to find out that the ‘Ultimate Kaiba Set’ briefcase is now available for purchase.
Introduction
All the ‘Yu-Gi-Oh!’ fans should be happy to hear that the famous metal briefcase, Seto Kaiba carries around to protect his precious cards, is now available for purchase. The briefcase won’t be coming empty, though, as it carries Kaiba’s OCG-related deck and his three famous ‘Blue-Eyes Whtie Dragon’ cards. Three new cards also make their appearance for the first time ever. By now, you might be wondering why Konami is offering this collectible item for purchase. Well, it’s because it’s celebrating the 25th OCG Anniversary of ‘Yu-Gi-Oh!‘ since its initial manga release.
In case you’re not familiar with the title, and you just want to buy a nice gift for somebody, then you should know a little about the series beforehand. ‘Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters is a Japanese anime series that started off as a manga (comic book) in 1996 by Kazuki Takahashi, and soon after it became a successful TV series, and even had its own theatrical releases around the globe. The plot revolves around duels with monsters displayed on cards that originate from ancient Egypt, and a little boy named Yugi, who acquired an ancient relic that contains the spirit of a powerful pharaoh. Along his journey, Yugi meets many friends and rivals, including Seto Kaiba, a billionaire genius and rival of Yugi.
Who is Seto Kaiba, and why is he so famous?
Seto Kaiba, is a genius entrepreneur that was able to build his own empire by taking advantage of the card game, and creating ways of materializing the monsters depicted in them in real life. He managed to do that by building machines that project 3D holograms in any environment. This was only the beginning in Kaiba’s arsenal of inventions, but that’s not the important part. The reason why fans love Kaiba, is because Kaiba is a very determined person, quick-witted, a good decision-maker, calls on anyone’s bullsh*t, and isn’t afraid of going against the whole world by himself if he has to. What’s even more admirable, is his persistence in improving himself, and devising the best strategy to beat Yugi.
What’s in the case?
Once you open the case, you’ll find:
- Three ‘Secret Rare’ rarity ‘Blue-Eyes-White Dragon’ cards inside a plexiglass plaque;
- One deck with the 58 most iconic cards in the manga (all in ‘Ultra Rare’ rarity);
- Three OCG first-time printed cards: ‘Attack Guidance Armor’, ‘Life Shaver’, and ‘Magical Trick Mirror’;
- Storage capacity of approximately 7,000 cards in a 7×2 compartment configuration.
Where can I buy it?
The briefcase isn’t cheap by any means. It costs 33,000 Yen, or roughly $300 (including tax). The price might seem high, but fans will tell you that for the sentimental and resell value it has, it’s dirt cheap. However, there are two problems: the briefcase is available only in Japan, and the cards are in the Japanese language in their original manga layout. You can safely assume that they can’t be used in an official duel.
Nevertheless, if you have the opportunity to obtain the ‘Ultimate Kaiba Set’, I suggest you do so. I know I would. Orders will take place from September 21 until October 31.
