The new Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 is a beast, wielding a V12 engine that produces 808 bhp. However, it’s a hybrid.
Introduction to the Sián
The new Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 marks the next supercar of the company that is also the first one to incorporate hybrid technology based on supercapacitor technology. Being a hybrid model, it might cause some understandable concern among petrol-heads, but they shouldn’t worry as the car still possesses a mighty 6.5-litre V12 naturally aspirated engine, which is also found in the Aventador SVJ.
Specifications
As previously mentioned, the Sián FKP 37 possesses a ramped-up 6.5-litre (6,498 cm3/ 396.5 cu in) naturally aspirated engine brought directly from the Aventador SVJ that has been tuned to 774bhp @8,500 rpm by adding titanium intake valves. It’s also been fitted with a 48-volt electric motor adding 34 bhp, and boosting the total output to a whopping 808 bhp. The electric motor is located in the gearbox, similar to other supercars, for improved response and performance, and it can assist with low-speed maneuvers, such as when parking.
As for the battery, Lamborghini thought it was better to replace typical Li-Ion batteries for supercapacitors for the simple reason of charging and discharging with the same power. An energy recovery system from braking has been added to take advantage of all the energy that is lost during braking, and refill the capacitors. All these improvements make the Sián FKP 37 sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mp/h) in just 2.8 seconds and reach a final speed of 350 km/h (217 m/h). The intermediate sprint times have been reduced by 0.2 seconds for the 30 – 60 km/h and a considerable 1.2 seconds from the 70 – 120 km/h time in comparison to Aventador JV.
Design
Exterior
Lamborghini states that the design of the car has been inspired by the Countach, and by adding sharp lines, heavy aerodynamic tweaks, and giving it a more distinct silhouette they were able to make a distinctive car within their brand. The unique headlights are inspired by the Terzo Millenio concept model, and will be the future design for the next models.
The body is said to be fully carbon fiber for increased strength, while keeping the weight down. They also added an electrochromic roof for when you need Sunlight in the cabin without having to remove the detachable carbon piece they use in the standard Aventador. The back has also been given a distinct look with a pair of large exhaust pipes and a pair of triple brake lights.
Interior
The interior closely resembles the Aventador’s interior by following the same Y and Hexagonal shapes and the same high-quality materials, with an impressive color scheme that perfectly fits the Sián FKP 37. Nothing much has changed here, as it perfectly fits the car’s style, so why fix something that’s not broken?
Where can I buy it?
Assuming that you have somewhere €2,900,000 ($3,500,000) lying around, buying the Sián FKP 37 will not be within the possibilities of this reality. The car runs on a limited production of 63 pieces that will be uniquely styled through ‘Lamborghini Ad Personam’ (customization program) to fit their customers’ wishes and have already been sold out.
