‘Cyberpunk 2077’, one of the most hyped games, was released on 10 December 2020. Here is some quick information you should know about.

Big news for gamers as Cyberpunk 2077 is ready for download on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and stream-ready on Stadia while Xbox Series S/X and PS5 will get their hands on it in 2021. It’s important to keep in mind that the 2021 update will provide the next-gen content for the full-blown experience. Until then, let’s see how the game manages its fame during its release.

Cyberpunk 2077: Official launch trailer.

For the lads out there that are not yet familiar with the title: Cyberpunk 2077 is an action first-person perspective game combined with role-playing and other sandbox elements. The title was developed by CD Projekt Red and published by CD Projekt (Polish video game developer, publisher, and distributor).

The biggest concern for the moment is whether the game will live up to its hype or be a big flop like so many other over-hyper titles. While console owners worry about content, PC owners on the other hand have to also know if their hardware will be able to match the minimum requirements as the game is said to be resource-intensive.

So far, the first Steam reviews have indicated that the game has lived up to most of its expectations, but it’s still too early to celebrate as it’s plagued with bugs and glitches from the start. Other fans of the title state that the game did not live up to their expectations and are somewhat disappointed.

Summary of current reviews

Let us summarize the most prevalent user consensus so far:

Pros:

  • Customization
  • Graphics
  • Lore
  • In-game interaction
  • Immersion

Cons:

  • Massive amounts of bugs and glitches
  • Performance issues even on the most high-end PC builds
  • Misleading PC hardware requirements
  • Crashes

Overall, the game has been well-received by its early adopters, but they all agree that it has some serious issues and hope that they will be quickly fixed. What is also highlighted is the importance of keeping the graphics cards’ drivers up to date, as the game presents some serious issues.

Personally, I would wait a bit more before getting my hands on it. I believe showing some patience, is critical now. Once all these problems are solved and the bugs ironed out, we will be able to enjoy it in its full glory. Perhaps we’ll even get it at a discount during Steam sales.
